Top Ten Book to Movie Adaptations
(In no particular order, and yes, I realize I went overboard this week)

This is one of the titles that I read as a child, over and over, and then A MOVIE CAME OUT.
And it was just as good as the book. Rosie O'Donnell wasn't how I pictured Ole Golly, but it worked.

I don't remember if I saw the movie first or read the book first, but now I'll read anything these two write. And I liked the movie a lot, in spite of the throwing up. For me, that says A LOT.

I absolutely adore this movie. I discovered the book in the library and about died of excitement. Then I read it. It wasn't so good. It was very different. You know who helped write the screenplay? Roald Dahl. That's probably why the movie's so awesome. Well, that and Dick Van Dyke. And the music.

It would have been hard to translate this amazing story to the movie, but the director made it look easy.

I saw Spiderwick and loved it. Then I read the books, and they were great, too!

This movie is how I discovered Neil Gaiman. Nuff said.

Goodness, this book was awful. Watch the movie, skip the book.

I thought they did a great job of taking pieces from the last few books and making an awesome movie out of them. It could have been a disaster, but it wasn't. I like the second movie far better than the first.

I enjoyed the book. It was very different, but good. The movie will always be more special to me, though. Why?
Because of this song:

I know Sara Evans is still around, but what happened to the Warren Brothers? They were great. Another good song: Where Does It Hurt?

They did such a good job with this one. There were hardly any differences, and those were probably done because of time. I really liked the stuff that they added with President Snow.

I love this movie. I love this book. They changed the ending in the movie, but it's still fun.

I haven't read this book, but I know the story. How fun to make it into a cartoon!

  2. Great choices! I love a well done movie adaptation. Most recently I was disappointed with the movie, We Bought a Zoo. It didn't seem to follow the story very well.
