Teen Movie Thursday: Part of Me

Katy Perry: Part of Me
Dan Cutforth, Jane Lipsitz, 2012

So I thought going into it that this was mostly a concert with interesting facts thrown in.

Actually, it was more of a documentary with some music thrown in.

I absolutely love Katy Perry's music. As a person, she just seems to sparkle and she seems sincerely loving and kind. Even though I don't know her, I wish the best for her. I'm so happy she's become so successful and I have no idea what I would do without her records. Music would be so boring without her.

I knew most of the information in this movie, but it was nice to see it directly from the source. It was fun to see her with her family and close friends. It was not so fun to see her heartbroken, however.

Going through the divorce just took her sparkle away, and that made me so upset. I was so sad for her. She really did share everything with the viewer, and I really hope she finds someone who appreciates her ambition in the future and works just as hard as she does to make a relationship work. I'm glad she trusted the world with all of that.

Go Katy Perry!

From the footage, I seriously hope to see her in concert someday. She knows how to put on a show! It was INCREDIBLE. And her voice is just amazing. I also loved knowing that if her sister is around, she gives away backstage passes to people in costume. BACKSTAGE PASSES! I'm not a costume person at all, but I would TOTALLY dress up in a costume to get backstage at a Katy Perry concert! Seriously cool.

I loved watching this, but teens might find all of the information a little boring and want more music.
