It's the summer after Alice's freshman year, she's survived her breakup with Patrick, and she and her friends are looking forwards to their jobs as assistant camp counselors. Alice feels as if she's finally gotten a handle on life. But Alice soon learns that the only thing she can count on is change. Pamela's mother is contemplating coming home, Lester is contemplating leaving home, and even Alice's father's romance with Miss Summers hits and unexpected snag. But most surprising of all are the shocking revelations about some of Alice's closet friends. Can Alice keep up with all the changes around her?
Hooray! I finished another Alice book. This one was a nice change of pace. Not a ton happened in it. It seemed like a bridge from one book to the next, which was cool. I liked seeing one of Alice's summers.
On the other hand, WHEN WILL BEN AND SYLVIA GET MARRIED ALREADY?
Seriously. I just wanna see the wedding. Is that too much to ask?
Also, it seems like Patrick might be interested in Alice again. I'm glad they can move on with no hard feelings, but I don't really want them to get back together. Alice doesn't seem interested in rekindling their relationship, either.
I had read some of the Alice books, but then grew out of them. This is one of the first books that I hadn't read in the past. It made it that much more fun. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens to Pamela and find out how Elizabeth turns out, too. I know Alice will be ok. I'm looking forward to seeing who she marries herself! So much to look forward to.
