Set over the course of one school year in 1986, ELEANOR AND PARK is the story of two star-crossed misfits – smart enough to know that first love almost never lasts, but brave and desperate enough to try. When Eleanor meets Park, you’ll remember your own first love – and just how hard it pulled you under.
This book wasn't what I expected. I thought it would be a quirky love story, like Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist.
This book was heartbreakingly amazing. I adored it. Eleanor's family situation broke my heart and I wanted to help her. I don't know how she went to school each day, either. I was so glad she had Park and his family to help her and give her a piece of normalcy.
With high school couples, even couples in romantic comedies, I usually doubt that they'll make it. I truly hope that Eleanor and Park got married. They were so good for each other.
If you like 80s movies, you'll like this one.
