Well, I wasn’t quite ready for the heaviness of Rupi Kaur’s book. I’m not the brightest poetry reader, but I felt like Kaur expressed herself well in her writing, and it definitely moved me. The drawings added to her work. Overall, I read this book because I couldn’t stop hearing about how amazing it was. In spite of the sadness I felt during some of the poems, I’m glad that I did read Kaur’s work because I learned from it. milk and honey was definitely out of my comfort zone, but I understand why so many other readers have loved it.
