Mini Reviews July 2019

So I've been busy the past few months, and have fallen behind on my reviews. This is how I'm going to catch up on them - fast reviews that are SHORT! Here are the titles featured:

No. I did NOT like this modernized, graphic-novel version of Little Women. The author didn't even seem to get the spirit of the book right and the flow was choppy. I think part of the problem might have been that TONS OF PEOPLE were involved in this book - look at the back page. They didn't get through the whole story in this book, so I'm guessing a sequel will come out (that I will not read.)

I never got a chance to read Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark as a child, like most people my age. I enjoyed this collection of scary stories even as an adult - especially because the author included folklore information in the back. I'm excited for the new movie, too!

Click is a graphic novel about fifth-grade friendships. It was a unique take on friendships, one not often featured in stories and movies. Olive gets along with everyone at school - but is best friends with no one. I did not miss the classic "either you're a mean girl or you're a loser" trope. I enjoyed the fresh take, and I'm sure that girls with similar experiences will appreciate it, too.
